Neon light provides a typical atmosphere. Not only the specific light but also the trendy, vintage look gives this illuminated advertisement its own character. Making neon signs is a pure craft. The glass tubes are heated and bent into every possible curve. With neon signs, every shape is possible.

Since the advent of LED lighting, neon production has been greatly reduced. Neopaul is one of the few who continued to produce neon and can now easily take advantage of the revival that neon is experiencing.

You too can benefit from the expertise that Neopaul offers. If you want a neon simulation for your business or company, contact us or try to design it yourself with our configurator.

Gas, powder and glass

The color of the neon light is determined by the combination of gas, powder and glass

Clear glass tube

For this type of neon we use a crystal clear tube. The gas used in the tube determines whether the tube will light up red or blue. This is the most basic neon. Through the transparent tube you can see the gas light up, a fascinating gas discharge. If the neon doesn't work, the tube is back to being completely transparent. This type gives only red and blue light.

Mass colored glass

With this type of tube, the glass itself is colored. If the neon doesn't give off light, the color of the tube remains visible. Yellow, deep red, deep green and deep blue exist in this version.

Powdered tube

On the inside of the neon tube a fluorescent layer is glued with a unique technique. This gives you a wide range of colors when the tube emits light. Without light the tube is white.

led-neon

led neon is a lookalike neon. We milled plexiglass into a round shape and fitted it with LEDs inside. In this version we work with 12 Volt;. Electrodes and back bends do not exist here. Ideal for places where impact resistance is an issue or where high voltage cannot be used.

Typical neon

The characteristics and features of neon make this such a unique product.

Back bend to obtain sharp corners

Bending a neon tube into a sharp angle is not possible, because the diameter of the tube must be maintained. If we still want a sharp angle, we work with a back bend. We bend the neon tube backwards and at an angle back to the front to create a sharp visual curve. The underlying area is covered with light-proof paint.

Electrodes for lighting

We make neon signs by folding glass tubes into the desired shape. To illuminate them, a gas discharge must occur in the tube. We obtain this by welding an electrode at both ends of the tube and connecting it to a high voltage wire. These electrodes and the return bends define the typical look of an authentic neon.

Split into groups

To obtain a gas discharge in the neon tube, the distance between the electrodes must be limited. The maximum length is 2.5 meters when unfolded. If longer, we divide the neon signs into groups where each group is provided with electrodes. We connect these groups together with a high-voltage cable.

Power Supply

A high voltage transformer provides gas discharge in the neon tubes. The correct voltage depends on the length, diameter and colour of the neon tube. Through our expertise, we know which transformer is needed to ensure years of operation of the neon.

led-neon

These are examples of led-neon or acrylic nelon. Similar to real neon but with LED lighting. This tube light is made of acrylic and is internally illuminated by LEDs. The light is distributed evenly, just like neon. Advantages: not as fragile as neon and lighting on safe low voltage. A robust and economical alternative to real neon.

Box letter with bulbs

Not neon at all but still belongs a bit to the look of neon. It has the same nostalgic feel as neon. If you are looking for real vintage you are in the right place with these letters. The channel letters are available in all RAL colours.

Neon in box letter

These are examples of neon mounted in relief letters or box letters. With the advent of LED lighting, there is less demand for this, but just original because of the vintage charm. The neon can run along the axis of the relief letter or follow the contours of the letter. The latter is only possible with large letters.

Neon on plexi

These are examples of neon mounted on a transparent plexiglass panel. Ideal for complex neon hanging behind a window or against a wall that still needs to remain visible.

Pure neon

These are examples of pure neon. The neon is mounted directly on the surface with spacers. This is work for experienced mechanics, for Neopaul therefore.

Neon on frame

These are examples of neon mounted on a frame. The frame can be painted in the color of the background to make it less noticeable. The frame can also be used to mount the neon at right angles to the wall.

Acrylic Neon

This is not really neon but it looks very much like it. It is made of acrylic and is internally lit with LEDs. The acrylic is composed so that the light is evenly distributed. Just like the real neon. The advantages are that it is obviously not as fragile and works on safe low voltage. A robust and economical alternative to neon.

Neon in plexi case

These are examples of neon, placed in a box of transparent plexi. This is applied when the neon is easy to touch or is in a public area. Neon works on high voltage and can be dangerous to touch.
